Shall we dance?

However, one day, I was at my parents’ house on the beach. I took my laptop and went to sit on the bench my father built when I was 6. I was mesmerized by the view, but also caught in my writing process. After some hours, I felt a man staring at me.

“Hello. Can I help you?”

“Hi. I didn’t want to disturb you. But you are such a beautiful creature, I couldn’t help myself.”

“Hem…Thanks, I guess.”

“My pleasure. Can I ask you what you are doing with your laptop here?”

“Writing. This is my nook. The place I come to think when things don’t go as planned.”

“Are you a writer?”

“I try to, but I think I don’t have enough luck.”

“I am an editor and I want to see your work.”

“So, you weren’t actually amazed by my looks.”

“Actually, I was. I am Thomas, by the way.”

“Rose, enchantée.”

“What is the essence of a story for you? What does it mean for you?”

“Are you questioning me, Thomas?”

“I just want to find out your answer.”

“A story is a dance of words which fit together. Words which put in the write order create not only a story, but a new world.”

“Oh, I see. Shall we dance?”

“Excuse me?”

“Shall we dance like the words?”

“Yes, we shall.”

This is how I kept my second promise. This is how my life began.
